Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy was born on April 16, 1996, in Miami Florida. Half English and half Spanish her parents are Dennis Alan Taylor a former banker as well as Jennifer Marina Joy a psychologist. Her father, an native Argentine of Scottish and English descendant is her mother. Her mother is Spanish-English. Taylor-Joy is the youngest of five children from her father's previous marriage. They lived at Buenos Aires until she was six, after which they moved to the Victoria neighborhood in London. According to Taylor-Joy the relocated family was traumatized and decided to not learn English with the intention of moving back to Argentina. She had to switch schools between Northlands and then Hill House. She then enrolled at Queen's Gate School, where she learned dance and participated in shows. She left high school at 16 to focus on her acting profession. Taylor-Joy is a child actor that knew she was going to become an actor. Her dreams were realized after Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a modeling job.
